“Don’t live for them. Live for you.” He answered and leaned over. “Take back what is yours. A person’s Song can never get cut away from them. They tricked you into turning away from it. To blind yourselves. Make yourselves numb. But you do not have to be. You can fight. Only this war is inside you.
“The battle here is to find yourself and the path you stand on: it’s knowing your own Song and feeling this life inside you and all things; living a life that gives as much as it takes from all the relatives and meet them, know them, share love with them, learn the wonders of the world from them; to meeting with your own species in harmony and giving; being able to respect yourself among the generations. This is dancing the web. This is wanowa ka ta see. It is a choice to walk this beauty or to give up and walk as one of the living dead.”
- Domano Hetaka, Sacred Link by Kay Cordell Whitaker
We just finished an absolutely amazing weekend class!
Sometimes I wish anyone interested in these teachings could instantaneously connect, just for a moment, to the space and energies we work with during such a weekend. Such an experience would easily remove any doubts and quite possibly change your life forever in an instant.
Unfortunately, there is no such thing is instant awakening, well at least not for most of us.
But, a weekend with Kay teaching wouldn’t be a weekend with Kay teaching without our own masks coming up, which also brings with it the enormous opportunity to let go of the addictions to those masks and connect Song to Song, Heart to Heart with each other and with the task at hand.
Even though there were moments of that, there was amazingly little mask dynamic going.
On Monday we gathered again although this time mostly for socializing and mingling, talking and sharing about what is going on in our lives.
After the gathering Kay and I went home for some much needed rest and relaxing.
As we were sitting there we started to reflect and talk about the weekend, the students, the many truly extraordinary and amazing gifts from the weekend until we found ourselves in the midst of sharing our perceptions and experiences of our observations of the connections, interactions and relationships between all the people at the class, with each other, with the spirits, with everything around us.
Before we knew it we were talking and reflected about our own relationship, our love for each other, our deep respect for each other, the amazing friendship we share, the passion, the wonders, the beauty of the gifts of our love and life with each other.
We realized how fundamentally different the reality of relationships and our understanding and experience of them is within the modern world verses within the Ka Ta See Tradition.
Naturally there are areas which overlap, but there are these fundamental variations, which make all the difference in the world on how we relate and share with each other.
In the end we decided that we want to share some of what we talked about with all of you and in the process give you the opportunity to share your thoughts and questions as well.
Of the many things love is and requires of us, among the most important is greatness.
Love is like Song, you can’t be living half in your Song and half in your masks, there truly is no half-ass Song, (pardon my french), neither is there when it comes to love.
True love, true sharing, true Song to Song, true Heart to Heart interaction, true friendship, true passion, respect, honoring, admiration requires of us the utmost greatness.
That is one of the secrets of love and, if we can unlock it, it will share its magic for a life the wonders of which are beyond imagination.
I know it can be frightening, most of us have been seriously injured and hurt by relationships. And we do have a choice, we can either choose to let those injuries and hurts stop us from living and loving to the fullest or we can go out and take our chances and let ourselves be amazed by what’s possible.
One word of caution, when you do decide to go out and get on the roller coaster ride again, make sure you know as much as you can about who you are and what you really want, what really is your purpose in your life. Know yourself, know YOUR Song.
So with all this in mind, we are offering you the opportunity on Sunday, February 28 at 12 noon, for another live call with Kay about love and relationships within Ka Ta See tradition, within the teachings of the Hetakas, based on true Song to Song connection.
We bring this event to you as part of our call series, “What are the Wonders, Magic and Gifts Ka Ta See has to offer our moderns Lives?”
