Who Are You?

The most delicious thing I have ever experienced in my whole life is the process of waking up, of giving up the social programming that our culture has so generously bestowed upon me.

Waking up does take some serious effort and dedication – but what a ride!

There are literally a million things pulling at our attention every minute. Most of them are so enticing and luring and we are free to indulge any and all of them on a whim.

It’s like having a cornucopia of drugs in front of us, they are all free and we can choose any one at any time.

And choose we do.

Domano and Chea, Kay’s Peruvian adopted grandparents and teachers always said that we are more addicted to our masks than a junkie to his or her drug.

Now imagine a junkie in the middle of a giant marketplace where there is nothing offered but his favorite drugs, and they’re all free, no charge. He can go to any stand and pop a pill, inhale or shoot up to his heart’s content all day long.

That’s us being asleep.

I know. That’s one hell of a tail whipping image.

But take a look. We have a million drugs at the tip of our asleep awareness and we pick and choose all day long which one to shoot up with, which one to engage and waste our attention on.

We have convinced ourselves that there is no price for engaging our favorite masks when in fact the price is so high, if we were truly aware of it, we’d never touch any of those masks.

It’s the ultimate price we can pay and it’s the same price every junkie pays in the end. It’s our life. It’s our freedom to live our Song.

Just as with the junkie, the price is our attention that we throw away every waking minute of the day, microsecond to microsecond.

All those gazillion things that are just at that tip of our awareness, things we can go off on at any moment, like a horse run away with the cart. Those are just like tinderboxes and all anyone has to do is toss a spark and off we go, throwing away our attention at anyone’s whim.

Recently I asked why Faux News can continue to emotionally bottom feed and fiercely rally everyone against each other?

Well, there is your answer.

Most of us are running around with those giant tinderboxes full of masks ready to ignite at the drop of a spark.

And, the powers-that-be have all figured out how to throw that spark.

Governments around the world have figured out how to do it. Religions, entertainment, sports, advertising, marketing, our (perceived) enemies, our family, even our friends, etc., etc., etc.

They have all figured out how to push our buttons, how to throw those sparks at our tinderboxes and instantaneously get us to shoot up with our favorite mask drug and freely hand our attention, our freedom, indeed our lives, at anything they offer.

The goal is to keep us entangled in conflict, blindly believing everything they serve and never ever to engage in the search for truth and, ultimately, for our freedom to know ourselves completely.

We willingly take that needle full of our favorite drug and shoot up.

Well, what can I do, you may ask?

The first step in learning not to do this is to make the commitment to never again pick up that needle, ever.

That’s the easy part.

The real difficult part is to follow through with that commitment when those needles are offered to you, and offered they will be all day long.

What makes following through with your commitment a lot easier is to know yourself, to know who and what you are, to know your Song.

When you know YOUR Song, when you truly know and own and live it, they can throw sparks all they want, nothing is going to catch fire and burn up your attention.

Nothing is more delicious, not even the most exciting drug offered to you, than knowing your own Song.

There is no need anymore to pick up that needle because you know that the experience of shooting up will never ever compare to the wonder and beauty and freedom and aliveness and the Love YOUR Song offers.

We stay in our Song, we own who we are and we do not pick up that needle and shoot up, because we know that none of the experiences their drugs offer come even remotely close to living in Song.

Sounds simple, right?

Well, if you’ve ever dealt with a personal drug problem or seen someone close to you deal with it, it’s not quite that simple.

Our masks have us so addicted it takes some of that really serious commitment and willpower to stop us when we’re given the opportunity to shoot up.

It’s like a junkie at the height of her addiction. There is nothing else in her world than to get that next shot.

That’s us on mask addiction.

Coincidentally, there really is a physical correlation of endorphin like substances being released when we engage our favorite masks, and we are more addicted to that rush than a junkie to her drug.

So adventure number one on any spiritual path is to know yourself, to know your Song, to know who you are.

Just like the Spirits shared during the Bone Throwing Ceremony about question 4 “How can we heal this an all levels?” The most important thing we can do is to know who we are.

Domano and Chea, Kay’s adopted Peruvian grandparents and teachers called knowing your Song the torchlight which guides you through the roller coaster ride of a spiritual journey.

So who are you?

I’ll share with you an excerpt from a lecture Kay just recently gave to try to answer that question, and maybe a few more.

Here it goes:

“All Ka Ta See teaching begins with the base, the beginning, the building blocks, the structure, the foundation of the entire tradition: Who are you – how do you identify yourself? Who do you think you are? What do you think you are?

This is the most fundamental and most important piece of knowledge that anyone in any walk of life could ever hope to know.

This knowledge is the key to real freedom.

It means you don’t have to be buried under the beliefs and expectations of society or your family or your enemies.

You don’t have to obey the pictures others hold up of you. It means you don’t have to force yourself to be someone else.

This knowledge leads to waking up – the most precious of all spiritual gifts.

In order to be able to accomplish gaining spiritual ability and awakeness you must be able to honestly and correctly answer this question.

It must be on your mind everyday, because if you are not awake then your identity shifts from one thing to another, but never with your own Consciousness, your own Aliveness, your own Song.

Your true identity has nothing to do with taking on the thoughtforms created by others with the demand that you obey the pictures and descriptions held inside the thoughtforms.

You can tell these thoughtforms by the other-people’s signatures that saturate them and by the judgmental, demanding stench that oozes out of them.

Your true identity has nothing to do with feeling someone else’s signature or Song and thinking it must be yours or pretending it must be yours.

Getting in touch with your true identity is a feeling experience where you, the seeker, experience the sensation of your own Aliveness.

You experience a sense of Self that no one or no thing can take away from you or ever distort – it is the feeling of your own personal private core, of what is there at the bottom, underneath every thought and feeling.

It is the Aliveness that allows all experience to be generated.

It is feeling your own Consciousness, individual and unique in the universe, yet connected to all in the universe.

This feeling, this experience, is what we poetically call our Song. And we learn to get in touch with this feeling of our Song THROUGH the sensations and memories of things happy, joyous.

The happy, joyous, exciting feelings help us touch into the great vastness of our Song. It is as if these feelings floated on the surface of our Song – like a magical doorway into a world of incorruptible aliveness and antiquity, vast, knowledgable, nourishing, whole, private – indestructible.

Your Song.  Your own true Beingness.

It’s a feeling, a knowingness that these words can’t begin to describe.

But we can try to find words that will lead you there, for yourself.

This Song experience is all about YOU, your SENSE OF SELF, your INNER KNOWING, your SENSE OF ALIVENESS.

Stop for a second. Feel that. Feel the aliveness inside of you. Not the Life Energy. But the living consciousness that is thinking, that moves your mind from here to there. Feel that.

There is UNIQUENESS there.

There is a SENSE OF UNIMAGINABLE ANTIQUITY, it’s YOU and it’s VAST.

Something that has always been and always will be BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL.

Inside you, you have always been YOU.

In a past life experience there is a recognition that this other “person” is YOU. This other “person” has your signature inside.

This is your Song, this hauntingly familiar Beingness, that stretches across times and places.

There is a delicious place inside of you where a deep caring, a grand love, for you abides. Always has. And always will.

YOUR SONG feels like BEING IN LOVE with everybody and everything including yourself, all the time.”

- Kay Cordell Whitaker (part of a Teacher Training lecture)

Throughout the Bone Throwing series about the oil spill the Spirits strongly make the case that nothing will change unless we wake up, unless we truly know who we are.

I hope Kay’s words will help remind us what that actually means.

Love and Song,

Helmut

“How Profoundly Katasee Can Change Your Life”

We are still working on getting the audio from our live call, “What are the Magic, Wonders and Gifts Katasee has to Offer our Modern Lives?” online.

In the meantime, here is a small taste on how amazing the call was.

In this 4 minute clip Kay answers the question as to how her life has changed since she met Domano and Chea Hetaka and began studying and practicing and teaching Katasee and their teachings about living in Song.

Enjoy.

Song to Song,

Helmut
